Full volunteer training sessions
Volunteers drive OSHIIP. Dedicated people are needed to be volunteers in all parts of Ohio. As a volunteer you’ll learn Medicare basics; you’ll help people in your community; and you’ll have the satisfaction of taking part in a truly worthy cause.
Licensed insurance agents, or those affiliated with an insurance company, a claims filing service or financial planning service are not eligible for our program. Being an OSHIIP volunteer would constitute a conflict of interest.
The OSHIIP initial volunteer training is a combination of two face-to-face sessions and self-paced on-line training modules.
OSHIIP face-to-face trainings so far for 2017 are scheduled in Franklin (March), Coshocton (April), and Lucas (June) Counties. Register at the link below.
All volunteers will be required to complete an OSHIIP volunteer application, liability form and provide three references. After completing the initial training, OSHIIP volunteers are required to report all client counseling sessions and outreach activity. Annually OSHIIP volunteers are required to attend at least one refresher training.
To start the self-paced online training, please create an account at www.shiptacenter.org. If you have any questions about the OSHIIP training, please contact Becky Hayward at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614-728-1043.
