Volunteers drive OSHIIP. Dedicated people are needed to be volunteers in all parts of Ohio. As a volunteer you’ll learn Medicare basics; you’ll help people in your community; and you’ll have the satisfaction of taking part in a truly worthy cause.
Licensed insurance agents, or those affiliated with an insurance company, a claims filing service or financial planning service are not eligible for our program. Being an OSHIIP volunteer would constitute a conflict of interest.
The
OSHIIP initial volunteer training consists of self-paced on-line training
modules with about 8-hours of material including videos, resources,
knowledge checks and a final exam. Once you complete the online modules,
volunteers will meet with the OSHIIP community liaison in their area and will
be expected to report regular client contacts, public media and outreach, and
attend annual volunteer refresher training sessions to maintain an active
volunteer status.
