Michelle Brugh

Michelle Brugh was named Assistant Director of Fraud, Enforcement and Licensing at the Ohio Department of Insurance in 2007.  Brugh oversees the investigation of insurance fraud and allegations of unlicensed activity and alleged agent misconduct.  She and her team coordinate efforts with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, referring cases to prosecutors for consideration, and confirming agent violations of Ohio Insurance Law.  Brugh also oversees the licensing of insurance agents and agencies. 


Before joining the Department, Brugh worked for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation in their Special Investigations Division.  She has worked in the insurance industry since 1990 and has more than 15 years of experience investigating insurance fraud. 


Brugh is actively involved with a number of National Association of Insurance Commissioners workgroups and currently serves as Chair of the Anti-Fraud Task Force Seminar and Training Committee.
