COLUMBUS – Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Insurance Director Mary Taylor today announced she has named Tynesia Dorsey as the Department’s Chief Administrative Officer. Dorsey’s duties include overseeing the operations of the Fiscal, Human Resources, Information and Technology, Consumer Affairs Divisions, and the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
A long-time employee, Dorsey joined the Department in November 1998 as a personnel officer. She was named head of Human Resources in January 2008 and directed such activities as personnel issues, benefits, payroll, labor relations, management of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and employee trainings.
“Tynesia has excelled in every position she has held at the Ohio Department of Insurance,” Taylor said. “Her dynamic management skills along with a sound understanding of the Department’s operations make her a perfect fit for this leadership position.”
Dorsey is an active member of the Labor Relations Advisory Council and the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association. Prior to joining the Department, she was a personnel officer at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
Tynesia and her husband reside with their daughter in Lancaster.
