COLUMBUS — Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor announced today that she has named Andy Hardy as the assistant director of legislative affairs and communications for the Ohio Department of Insurance. In this role, Hardy will focus on managing legislative initiatives and oversee the department’s communications division.
“I am happy to welcome Andy to the department, where his extensive background in public policy and advocacy will support our ongoing efforts to serve our citizens,” said Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, also Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance.
Prior to joining the Ohio Department of Insurance, Hardy was the director of public affairs for Finance Fund. He was responsible for developing and managing strategies to inform lawmakers about potentially impactful legislative matters to low-income rural and urban communities. Prior to that, Hardy served U.S. Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi in a range of roles in the areas of trade, transportation, energy, environment, appropriations and budget — including his final positon as senior legislative assistant.
