COLUMBUS — Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor announced that Vandalia resident Sherri Yarbrough was sentenced in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on May 12 to five years of supervised probation and ordered to repay $67,738.01 to an insurance company. Yarbrough pleaded guilty to two felony counts of insurance fraud.
“When individuals decide to defraud their insurance company we all pay the price in the form of higher insurance rates,” said Taylor, also Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. “I am very happy with the results of this case because the individual who stole thousands from her insurance company has been held accountable for her crimes.”
A Department investigation found that Yarbrough submitted false receipts in support of alleged losses related to a homeowner’s insurance claim.
