COLUMBUS – Ohio Department of Insurance Chief Policy Officer Doug Anderson has announced his resignation effective January 7, 2011.
In his role as Chief Policy Officer, Anderson provided legal and strategic advice on a wide range of business, insurance and health care related issues. Under the Strickland Administration, Anderson was a leader in implementation of health care reforms, both on a state and federal level.
“Doug’s leadership and expertise have been invaluable to the Department,” said the Ohio Department of Insurance. “Under Doug’s direction, Ohio has made great strides in implementing changes to Ohio insurance law so that more uninsured Ohioans can afford coverage. That work continued once federal reforms took effect earlier this year, and Doug has provided the groundwork for Ohio to implement a health insurance exchange by 2014 so that every Ohioan can have affordable health insurance options.”
Anderson has been with the Department since 2001.
